BRIEF SUMMARY:

The DC Cancer Consortium (DCCC) is a community-based 501(c)(3) public charity composed of more than 75 organizations from the healthcare and advocacy communities committed to addressing cancer control and prevention in the District of Columbia Metropolitan area. We are working to implement the 2013-2018 DC Cancer Control Plan, our road map to reduce cancer incidence and mortality, reduce racial and ethnic disparities in access to care, prevention and cancer treatment, and improve the quality of life for cancer survivors. EVENT

The LIVESTRONG Foundation in collaboration with the Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs (OLA) is seeking individuals to become professional certified LIVESTRONG Promotores.
The LIVESTRONG Promotores is a professional training program that provides individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to serve and connect cancer survivors and their loved ones to cancer related resources and support.

LIVESTRONG certified promoters refer Hispanic/Latino 's affected by cancer to LIVESTRONG Navigationals services, meet with patients and discuss ways they can support the individual, address their needs, and particpate in local community events and health fairs.

Training will be conducted in Spanish.

Lunch will be provided
Upon successful completion of this training event Promotores will receive a $50 honorarium.
