RF Engineer - Randstad Engineering (Washington DC)

Our client a leading provider of fixed satellite services has an immediate need for a Sr. Regulatory Engineer for their office in the metro Washington, DC area. Responsibilities to include development and support of the deployment of clients satellite fleet. Work with various engineering aspects to coordinate with other satellite operators, file space station and earth station applications with both the Federal Communication Commission and the International Telecommunications Union, participation in technical ITU meetings. This is a direct hire opportunity that has bonus opportunity and relocation assistance available. Responsibilities Prepare technical material to be used in coordination meetings with other operators Ensure that filings are coordinated with other operators under the best possible conditions Prepare contributions and participate in meetings of the ITU and other regional organizations to ensure that international regulations applicable to spectrum use are favorable to satellites in general File space station and earth station applications with both the Federal Communication Commission and the International Telecommunications Union Coordinate with involved parties within and outside client, as required to prepare the engineering portion of earth station applications Participate in technical ITU meetings as necessary Interact with and respond to requests from internal and external customers Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline 7+ years of working in the satellite or telecommunications industry Extensive knowledge of satellite communications, in particular, transmission and interference analysis Hands on experience in coordination of satellite networks Solid knowledge of the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) Radio Regulations and FCC rules Ability to travel internationally Benefits Medical Vacation Retirement Bonus available Relocation assistance This is a Permanent position.
