Interior Plantscapes, Inc. seeks a Field Supervisor that provides support to the Operations Manager, supervises horticultural technicians, as well as provide perform quality control checks. The Field Supervisor is forward thinking, a responsible and independent worker, embracing of sustainable horticultural practices, and is highly skilled in the fields of plant care, internal and external landscape maintenance and horticulture design. The Field Supervisor has excellent communication skills with a positive attitude that embraces progressive, respectful, efficient, business practices.

The Field Supervisor utilizes horticultural expertise to perform internal and external maintenance and installation tasks as directed and independently.
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Field Supervisor duties outlined below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
:Supervises and coordinates activities of technicians engaged in internal and external maintenance
:Oversees the snow removal on all accounts
:Applies mulch to designated areas
:Assist with the designing and planting of plants internal and external installations
:Hand pruning of shrubs and trees under fifteen feet for health and structure.
:Assists the Operations Manager in the development of best practices in horticultural services
Performs the following supervisory roles:
:Schedules weekly tasks for the technicians, urban landscapers, installers and communicates via weekly meetings
:Provides training and guidance in coordination with the Operations Manager to workers in tasks including, raking, brush removal, caring for plant stock, planting of flowers, irrigation, transplanting and pruning of trees and shrubbery.
:Performs quality control checks
:Maintains time and production records.
Supervises service department employees in the absence of or as directed by the Operations Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Assists Operations Manager with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Current Pesticide License and training in Pesticide Application. Must have a valid Maryland Drivers License and safe driving record.
Bachelors degree from four:year college or university or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with emphasis on landscape design and maintenance, plant materials, irrigation and landscape management. Pesticides applicators license required. Computer skills required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one:on:one and small group situations to residents, contractors, suppliers, and other employees of the organization. Spanish language skills are desirable.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Has advanced computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, effectively utilize the internet and other digital resources, and preserve/backup impo
