HVAC Mechanic II - Electrician - Position #100796


The HVAC Mechanic II is a member of the Electro Mechanical section in Residential Facilities. The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for providing and/or arranging routine and emergency maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park’s Campus’ residence halls, Greek chapter houses and recreational facilities. The Department is responsible for 48 residence hall buildings and Fraternity Row chapter houses with just over 2 million square feet of space.

The HVAC Mechanic II is an Electrician who under the general supervision of section supervisor, is responsible for general electrical repair and maintenance related to HVAC equipment, residential and commercial electrical circuitry including but not limited to pumps, fans, air compressors and all equipment related to HVAC and lighting systems

Minimum Qualifications:

Six years progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade. Journeyman electrical license or higher required. Valid Driver’s License with less than 6 points required.

Must be able to install HVAC equipment and appliances; to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications; to operate/use a multimeter, circuit tester, and PPE electrical equipment; and to understand, carry out, and give directions related to electrical applications. Ability to read and understand manufacturer's recommendations regarding scheduled and preventive maintenance, servicing, and operation; to use computers and related software to diagnose HVAC electrical system problems; to prepare written reports; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and possess general knowledge of OSHA/MOSH regulations related to the electrical trade. Must be familiar with NFPA/ NEC and NFPA NEC 70A. CFC certification preferred
