Job Description:/h3:
We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team The individual will provide compliance oversight support to a metrorail project team to facilitate the acceptance of the project into the ARS. The primary function of this position will be field oversight but substantial technical / administrative work is required.
Duties and responsibilities:
Oversee the Contractors engineering, installation, and testing, of civil, structural, and architectural work to ensure compliance with Contract requirements
Develop intimate knowledge and understanding of Contractual requirements related to civil / structural / architectural design, materials, equipment, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Review civil / structural / architectural construction submittals, including drawings, shop drawings, product submittals, factory test reports, test procedures, test plans, commissioning plans / procedures, and any other related documentation.
Ensure quality of civil / structural / architectural construction, fabrication, installation, and testing activities. Ensure that work is in conformance with agency standards, criteria, drawings, specifications, and approved test procedures.
Make frequent visits to site to audit and oversee civil / structural / architectural construction, installation, and testing activities.
Prepare field report of each visit and document observed work and any deficiencies identified.
Observes work operations for compliance with applicable safety regulations; is alert for unsafe practices, and where appropriate, requests their correction by the contractors representative on site.
Provide subject matter expertise to assist in the development of agencys System Performance Demonstration (SPD) testing and verification activities; help develop a plan and schedule for SPD execution.
Support System acceptance and project closeout.
Provide technical assistance and recommendations in administering change orders and processing claims.

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience in project management and quality control.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent business and technical writing.
Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience is desired, including experience in the engineering, construction, installation, and testing of civil, structural, and architectural work.
Experience in rail transit is preferred
