Rockville, Solutions Client, a very prestigious health / Bio / Pharma, non:lobbying global organization headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, with offices worldwide, has an immediate need for a Marketing Director. The marketing director leads the marketing team as it evolves from a marketing services focus to a leader of organizational strategy and driver of business growth. This individual oversees a marketing staff of four and is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans that are integrated with content strategy, utilize modern marketing approaches and technology to effectively reach target audiences, and deliver the experience, engagement and revenue results necessary for organizational success. The marketing director is responsible for ensuring marketing plans and expenditures result in achieving budget, attaining planned outcomes and delivering a positive return on investment. He or she works collaboratively with the marketing staff and other departments to develop plans to support revenue streams and maintains clear communication of progress against plans and goals.

Provide leadership and oversight of marketing to ensure superior performance
Establish strategic marketing direction that supports and advances organizational goals
Set and guide direction and projects for marketing team
Provide strategic oversight and quality control of marketing and website initiatives
Build and maintain relationships with project teams and executive team to encourage information sharing and feedback
Recommend new business opportunities; work closely with business development and project teams to identify and develop successful products and programming and to make recommendations to retire products and programming
Integrate marketing and creative strategies
Oversee departmental budget; Oversee vendors and outsourced projects

Oversee content marketing, content integration and management for marketing; partner with content development team to identify marketing opportunities
Assist strategic partners and facilitate international marketing efforts on defined objectives
Drive research, direction and innovation for current and future marketing efforts, utilizing new practices and trends within the creative, user experience (UX) and content realms.
Build cooperation and team spirit in cross:functional project teams to ensure alignment to customer needs and provide positive customer experience.
Measure and report on effectiveness of marketing initiatives in terms of Return on Investment, Return on Objectives and Return on Engagement measures as appropriate.
Supervise four direct reports; with the potential for additional staff as team grows.

The successful candidate will have at least a bachelors degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications or an IT related field, plus 12 years of combined experience in marketing. Preferred: MBA with focus on marketing or Masters degree in related field; Certified Association Executive (CAE) preferred.
He or she will have a proven track record of innovation, demonstrated success in building a business, and have the ability to balance strategy with tactical execution. The marketing director will be a technologically savvy professional with a deep understanding of data and analytics coupled with the creative mindset to transition raw data into actionable insights and compelling marketing campaigns.
