Materials/Chemical Engineer SETA (Job Number:431433)
Materials/Chemical Engineer : Scientific/Engineering Technical Assistant Provide Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the Government Program Manager (PM) in the technical execution of the program. Provide independent subject matter expertise support to the Government PM in the review and assessment of program performance, technical deliverables, and program and contractor publications based on a strong understanding of sorbent materials at the molecular, nanoscale, and mesoscale levels. Experience in the areas of Selective Sorption, Clutter Rejection, Temporal Fidelity, and Remote Indicators is strongly desired.
Responsibilities include:
: Analyze and summarize performers' technical deliverables and publications.
: Provide independent review and summarization of technical literature and emerging technologies for the Government PM.
: Conduct continuous surveys and provide summarizations of relevant government, academic, and contracted research.
: Assist with developing test and evaluation plans and assess performer results.
: Assist the government PM with coordination among potential mission and transition partners.
: Provide technical and programmatic support for other technology/program developmental activities, including support for program studies.
: BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant engineering fields with 7+ years of work experience
: Ability to write and speak concisely and persuasively
: Ability to accurately convey technical and scientific concepts and issues to persons with varying levels of expertise
: Ability to proactively manage multiple, concurrent tasks
: Candidates with work experience outside of their core area of study, or work experience in more than one discipline or sub:discipline are highly desirable.
: Two+ years' experience working in the Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition
: Experience managing a multi:agency, multi:disciplinary test and evaluation team
: Experience in trace chemical detection and/or sorbent chemistry: previous lab of field work is desirable, but program advisor/oversight only experience is acceptable
: Cross:discipline experience in Sorbent and Polymer chemistry, Encapsulation, Nanotechnology, Micro:engineered materials, Reaction kinetics, and Chemical analysis techniques is highly desired.
