We are currently seeking an Inventory Control Manager to join our growing organization. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control efforts. The Inventory Control Manager will analyze cycle count inventory processes, establish and maintain inventory discrepancy investigations, and generate appropriate reporting to maintain adequate inventory levels and appropriate control. This individual will support warehousing and manufacturing operations by managing the information flow, movement, storage, delivery, accuracy and control of inventory across multiple sites and sub-inventories. The Inventory Control Manager works closely with the VP of Operations, Director of Distribution, Corporate Controller and CFO to monitor, report, control and improve all inventory control policies and procedures globally.
**Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities**
* Work with company inventory warehouses on inventory control procedures, performing routine audits of 3rd party control procedures and reconciliation between inventory systems.
* Report inventory excess, obsolete, slow moving and out of balance issues to appropriate personnel, with recommendations on resolution.
* Develop and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory control management policies, processes and guidelines for all sites, globally.
* Lead and manage direct reports and indirect reports to improve inventory control procedures globally, holding appropriate parties accountable.
* Analyze cycle count processes and results, establish and maintain inventory discrepancy investigations, and generate appropriate reporting to maintain adequate inventory levels and appropriate control.
* Timely communication with Operations, Accounting, and Finance regarding inventory issues including the existence, cause and resolution of inventory variances.
* Train personnel on the proper methods for resolving quality, production and inventory related issues in the inventory management system.
* Monitor all quality issues for materials; providing feedback and support to purchasing, quality control and engineering and monitoring final disposition for goods.
* Manage physical inventory processes and onsite inventory observations by internal or external parties and resolution to any identified findings.
* Approximately 10-15% travel to company inventory locations to review and oversee inventory processes and reporting.
* Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.
* Additional duties as assigned.
**Specific Job Requirements**
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all organization levels and with outside vendors. Must be able to negotiate and/or influence others in a positive/professional manner to gather support for the company s needs or to drive change.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Strong working knowledge of financial control policies/audit procedures and an understanding of basic accounting principles.
* Strong knowledge of inventory process controls in a warehousing/distribution environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication including presentation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities at the same time.
* Ability to prioritize and set goals to achieve company objectives.
* Strong planning skills including but not limited to projects, staffing and work processes.
* Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and instruct others in the proper methods by leading through example.
**Education and Experience Requirements**
* Minimum 7 years experience in inventory control or financial control/related management position, overseeing multiple sites globally.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; advanced level preferred.
* ERP (Tier 1) experience required (Oracle preferred).
* Bachelor s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university with major coursework in logistics, finance, accounting, inventory management or business management preferred
* Proven background in cycle count/inventory control policies and procedures in a distribution environment.
* Local candidates preferred.
