Resident Counselor Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant (Full:Time and Part:Time Positions)
(POSITION REPORTS TO: Resident Director)


Full:Time positions 4::oopm:11:00pm and 11:00pm:7:00am (4 days on and 4 days off) and Part:time position from 4:00 p.m.: 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Friday and 2:00 p.m. : 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Candidates must pass drug testing due to the company being a drug free (any type) environment. Provides assistance to consumers with general life management. Seeks to carry out components of the treatment plan, helping consumers achieve their personal goals. Treats the consumer with utmost respect and dignity and encourages consumer choice in decision:making. Must have a compassion for providing support to individuals living with mental illness in the District of Columbia. The Residential Counselor Aide works in a licensed Community Residential facility that provides a supportive, therapeutic environment for mentally ill adults. Duties include: supervision and care for residents in the home; housekeeping; cooking/meal preparation; medication supervision and recording; assistance with grooming and personal hygiene; boundary setting; mediation of resident disputes; recording attendance, being aware of and participating in the development and implementation of treatment plans for residents; reporting significant changes in resident behavior; compliance with all contracting and Life Stride, Inc., policies and procedures; maintaining supply inventories; assisting with residents activities of daily living; must be able to appropriate oversee and document emergency situations; and responsible for the safety and security of the residents and are expected to model appropriate behavior for residents. Responsible for greeting family and/or significant others related to the residents and officials to the facility. Candidates must have experience working with human services and or other health behavior area clients.

Applicants must have good writing skills and be computer literate.

:Provide consumers with preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative services in accordance with the TREATMENT PLAN.
:Must be timely and maintain post until relieved by another worker.
:Assist training consumers in self:help and daily living skills.
:Engage consumers in structured activities that support the TREATMENT PLAN.
:Maintain facilities cleanliness and ensure safety of residents .
:Prepare nutritious meals for residents honoring consumer choice and cultural preferences to the extent possible.
:Monitor and report progress of individual clients in records.
:Observe behavioral changes in consumers and document information in records.
:Attend meetings as required
:Attend training as required to upgrade skills.
:Work on:call and weekends as scheduled.
:Assist consumers in bathing, shaving and other personal hygiene.
:Perform other duties as assigned.
:Must be willing to change assigned group homes as designated by LSI administration to meet applicable staffing needs.

:High School Diploma or Equivalent
:Computer Literate
:Ale to pass a Federal and DC criminal background check
:21 years of age or older
:l or more years experience with persons with mental illness
:Certified Food Handler
:First Aid Certification
:CPR/AED Certification
:Able to pass a physical examination
:Able to quickly learn medication supervision and monitoring
One year working in the behavior health/group homes professions.
