Manager, Business Development

Summary:

Responsible for working collaboratively in development of new business concepts for AGA, crafting and submitting proposal documents; developing prospecting tools; managing relationships with Medical Education Communication Companies and overseeing internal implementation of industry supported programs.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and organize a product pipeline report, lead generation and identification of qualified prospects.
Develop relationships across Association’s departments (including content developers, finance, meetings, marketing, etc.) to create collaborative approaches to new business opportunities.
Nurture relationships with Medical Education Communication Companies (MECs)
Develop collaborative relationships
Communicate AGA’s priorities and goals
Negotiate Association’s fees and costs associated with programs
Work closely with MEC to oversee submission process
Ensure smooth implementation program internally
Initiate reconciliation of grant at end of program
Research, write and submit proposals for new revenue-generating programs
Develop concepts and vet amongst Association staff
Develop written proposal, program budget and other supporting documents
Create prospect list and complete submission of program and supporting documents, as appropriate
Develop plan for a smooth transition from program concept to implementation
Engage Association staff in completion of grant reconciliation at end of program
Communicate and give presentations clearly and confidently to internal and external audiences of varied background and experiences. and experiences.
Initiate a collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation are necessary for success.
Establish relationships with a broad range of staff, partners and other stakeholders. Communicate effectively in a variety of ways including, in person, on the phone, in virtual meetings and by email.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in business, public health, or related (health care focus preferred)
2. 3-5 years experience in business development, proposal writing a plus.
3. Organized approach to work, with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Clear and professional written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to quickly incorporate complex information and implement it in daily practice.
Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly document processes and specifications and maintain versions of said documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint
Proficiency and experience in customer service with high standards of timeliness and responsiveness.
Disciplined self-starter who is confident, communicative, organized, and reliable.
