Project CHANGE, the original Montgomery County MD program of AmeriCorps, is seeking members to volunteer for the remainder of the 2017-2018 service year, from December 2017 to August 2018. Members serve the county's most disadvantaged K-12 students to inspire them to become more engaged learners. In return, members receive training, a living stipend, health benefits, and a life-changing experience. Positions are full time and part time.

Assignments in Montgomery County's Project CHANGE include the
following outstanding nonprofit and educational organizations:

•Montgomery Housing Partnership:
Provides after school programs for students primarily from immigrant families. The AmeriCorps members help coordinate and supervise preschool and after-school programs and must be fluent in Spanish. Having a car is an advantage.(One full time position available)

Community Bridges:
Community Bridges empowers girls from diverse backgrounds to become exceptional students, positive leaders, and healthy young women. They address the developmental needs of immigrant and minority girls and their families living at or below the federal poverty level in Montgomery County, Maryland. ( One full time position available) Candidate must have a license and a car.

Gandhi Brigade: Provides training to disadvantaged youth in film and documentary making. Members facilitate the planning and the delivery of this creative work. Applicants must have experience in video/film arts. (One full time position available)

Montgomery County Public Schools-Study Circles Program: Focuses on issues of race and ethnicity and serves under the Equity Division of MCPS. The members involved with Study Circles recruit volunteers and help coordinate meetings between staff and students that focus on issues of race, to close the achievement gap. (One Full time positions available)

Montgomery County Public Schools One half-time member will serve at the Dual Language program at Kemp Mills Elementary School. The member must be fluent in Spanish.

ClancyWorks Dance Company -Member will deliver training in dance to after school programs working with disadvantaged K-12 kids and contribute to Clancy Dance performances. Member must be an experienced dancer. (One full Time Position available)

Applicants must be high school graduates and American citizens or permanent residents.

$1375 stipend for living expenses per month
