The Program Officer is anintegral part of the Teacher Exchange Programs and Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programs teamand manages entire program cycles and supervises junior staff. The Program Officer oversees day-to-day operations program(s),including but not limited to managing program work plans and timelines, partner relations, program specific finances, and supervising junior staff in implementation of program specific tasks.This work willinvolve travel.
* Represents Education Practice interests both within and outside of IREX;
* Providesfinancialmanagementsupportofawards,programandeventbudgets,includingbudgetprojections,reconciliation,
* monitoring;
* Developsandmanagesworkplansandtimelinesforoverlappingawardcyclesandmultipleprojectactivities;
* Providesoversightoftheimplementationofsubawardswithmultiplehostinstitutions;
* Developsquarterlyreportstofunder,surveydevelopmentandimplementation,datacollectionandprocessing;
* ServesasprimarypointofcontactforU.S. Embassiesand FulbrightCommissionsoverseas;
* Organizesprogrameventsandconductstrainingsandsitevisits;
* Providesmonitoringandevaluationeffortsandtracksparticipantnumbersandprogramindicatorsandimpact;
* Developsprogramandworkshopmaterials;
* Workswithprogramparticipantsandalumni,trackssuccessstoriesandprogramimpact data;
* Compilesandtrackawiderangeofparticipantinformationandprogramdata,maintainingaccuracyandcompleteness;
* Supervisesandmanages juniorprogramstaff;
* Takesleadershiproleinselectaspectofprogramimplementation,asassignedbyseniormanagers;
* Supports program publicity and outreach;
* Other programmatic and administrative duties as assigned.
* Bachelor s degree in international development, international education, or related field; Master s preferred;
* Minimum of fiveyears experience working in a non-profit ordevelopment and/or education focused organization and/or managing international education programs demonstrating relevant progressive experience, with a focus on exchange programming and/or professional training/development programs
* Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives with strong ability to anticipate challenges and generate solutions;
* Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize;
* Able to work independently and as a team member with consistent ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and be flexible;
* Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills;
* Experience with procurement procedures and sub-award management, as well as creating, managing and monitoring budgets;
* Familiarity with Department of State programs highly preferred;
* Supervisory experience or experience managing/directing staff preferred;
* Experience working with data and spreadsheets; Experience working with Salesforce preferred;
* Experiences with creating and managing online learning preferred;
* Availability to travel domestically as well as support scheduled program activities in the evenings and on weekends;
* International work or study experiencerequired.
