We are looking for a Communications Assistant to provide administrative support to the Communications and Operations Teams at Crossroads Campaigns. Editing and writing will be an important part of your job.

This is a full-time position in Washington, D.C., and the individual must have a teachable spirit with experience in communications, digital media, and/or operations.

Day-to-day responsibilities of the Communications Assistant include but are not limited to: drafting and editing written documents for clients, implementing social media plans for clients, assisting with overseeing senior staff calendars, and assisting the Operations Team with day-to-day tasks.

Help implement communications strategies
Provide administrative support with scheduling and assisting with managing the day-to-day operations of senior staff and President of CCS
Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, training materials, presentations, social media posts)
Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies for Crossroads Campaigns and external clients
Track projects and media clips
Track analytics and metrics for all communications projects
Maintain calendars and appointments
Prepare presentations and reports

Proven experience as an administrative assistant with strong writing skills is a plus
Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
Strong editing and researching skills
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Strong attention to detail
Organizational skills
Interested and committed to propelling progressive issues and campaigns
Ability to travel and work flexible house
Can thrive working in a fast-paced and demanding environment during an election year with dispersed colleagues and client contacts
BSc/BA in Communications, Political Science, or a related field is desired
