Job Description:/h3:
Exciting opportunity to work for one of DCs largest, independent employee benefit consulting firms. Seeking a highly motivated, self:starter with a proven track record to generate new health and welfare business sales using a consultative approach. Target market is employers with 50:1,000 employees headquartered in the DC metro area.

Key Responsibilities
Achieve new business sales goals on an annual basis, as well as maintain weekly activity levels
Develop and execute an annual marketing plan
Identify, qualify and develop prospects in target market through cold calling, networking, and other lead generation opportunities
Cultivate effective relationships with key decision makers
Demonstrate an understanding of target prospects short and long:term business needs
Demonstrate comprehensive industry knowledge and understanding of employee benefits; knowledge of competitors is a plus
Maintain an in:depth understanding of our value proposition
Prepare and distribute ongoing multi:faceted marketing materials
Use of social media
Initiate and participate in prospect meetings
Prepare finalist presentations and respond to RFPs
Seek and participate in local speaking engagements on relevant industry topics
Participate in team and vendor meetings

Desired Skills and Experience
Valid life/health license
Bachelors degree
Minimum 5 years of corporate sales experience, preferably in employee benefits field
Understanding of employee benefits, retirement plan knowledge is a plus
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding annual sales targets for new business
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Effective time management
Microsoft Office
